Curvy models! The trend towards individuality

The modeling business. A constantly changing and very fast moving market. How multi-faceted and individual he is in the process of developing is not clear to most people. The ideal of beauty changes permanently and becomes more and more individual at the moment and accepts a mixture of already past ideals of beauty. The curves from the 1950s, in which Marilyn Monroe was the ideal image, mix with the still predominant Size 0 models and now introduce a new variable that is characterized by social media and the modern zeitgeist. Individuality is in demand. Tattoos, influencers, colorful hair or curves! The new Trend Plus Size in particular is establishing itself in the industry and growing permanently. Plus Size should not be confused with oversizes. Curvy models also play sports and pay attention to their diet. So it’s not fast food and lazing around, but ‘you are what you eat’ and so they live just as healthy and balanced to keep their weight on a level, because their curves must not and don’t want to lose them.

Photographer Oliver Rudolph explains in an interview about ‘Curvy Models’: It’s nice that the market is expanding and women with curves are also in demand. Why limit it to an ideal of beauty? ”. If we are honest, very few of us wear Size Zero and can therefore identify much better with the beautiful yet realistic Curvy models than with the beauty ideal of the Vogue models. By using Curvy Models, companies achieve a much larger reach and can address a much larger target group, which increases their market value enormously. Also model agent Stephan M. Czaja explains: Curvy Models are great for advertising. Everything that’s different and new sells great and attracts people’s attention.

Even the fashion magazine Vogue, which has been known for size 0 and skinny models until now, has printed the Curvy supermodel Ashley Graham on the cover of the American issue in March and thus for the first time in history a plus size model has appeared in their issues. So you can see that even established large companies are accepting the trend and establishing it in the industry.

Curvy models are and will remain trend:

Plus size models are just as popular as fancy guys with tattoos. The beauty ideal changes into an individuality and now stands completely under the motto: Everyone is beautiful! ”. Whether wasp waist and giant bottom, as with Kim Kardashian, a completely tattooed body, as with Zombie Boy or curves, as with Ashley Greyham, Angelina Kirsch or Fine Bauer. The model industry is growing day by day and offers more and more niches for extraordinary types. Whether one of these ideals will ever replace the slimness craze and the Size 0 models, however, is questionable.
