Test shoots are unpaid photoshoots. Photographer, make-up artist and model work without payment but are able to use the pictures for their books. Test shoots are the base for new faces in order to get professional pictures. If you don’t have them as model you won’t be booked for jobs and your market value will not get any better. There are unpaid and paid tests. For a paid test, you might have to invest a little bit of money, but after your second job, you will have it back. Prices for test shoots vary depending on styling, complexity, number of pictures and photographer. For an unpaid test, the entire team is working for free, without payment. The model may use the pictures and the photographer can submit them to magazines as well.
